Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Disappointing At first the laptop has everything right - but the touchpad kept malfunctioning. Trying to move it would engage clicks, zooms, drags, scrolls and the cursor would sometimes even stop responding. I got a replacement computer, didn't fix the issue. Lenovo suggested a Windows refresh and a factory reset - still no improvement. I sent it to Lenovo for repair - STILL no improvement. Seems like a problem with the entire Z50-75 line, since this occurred on two different units. It's also a good idea to update the graphics driver, else it can cause the computer to crash with the message SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (atikmdag.sys).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Fits my every need I'm a college student and this laptop is the best balance of everything I need and want at an awesome price. I bought the most upgraded version and it cost just over 700. This is discrete graphics card, 1 TB mem, 8 GB ram, i7... Only things to keep in mind are yes, this is not an ultrabook, battery life is ~4 hrs, its easy to leave in my bag and forget about it then it has no charge. And yes, the screen is rather reflective. I love the fact that it has all the ports and still stays rather slim and sleek. It wont turn heads for looks or anything but its a great buy if battery life isn't a killer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Worst keyboard ever Bought the laptop a couple of weeks ago. I've barely done anything with it so I can't really comment on anything like reliability etc. It's fast enough, but my old laptop took 30 seconds to minimise a window, so anything is an improvement on that. The keyboard is absolutely horrible. It feels cheap, it is not responsive (you have to hammer the keys for it to register) and the space bar hardly ever works. When you push one key, the whole keyboard sinks in a bit. Total garbage. I'm not expecting the keyboard to last long. To be honest it's enough to make me want to have bought a different laptop because it's grim.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Cheap components I purchased the antiglare more pricy version of this laptop. The i7 processor, 8 gb of memory, 1 tb hard drive are all pluses. The supposedly AntiGlare LED display is bad. I have seen better monitors on the cheapest laptops available. The keyboard is flimsy. It makes me worry about the hardware and how many corners they cut to make a buck there too. The only thing that might be a brand name component would be the intel processor. Other than that, I highly doubt any other component is anything other than the cheapest they could find.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Power and price As a Graphic and 3D designer i needed a laptop that would easily run multiple heavy programs at the same time (Photoshop, 3D max and mudbox for example) this laptop delivers. Where as my colleagues enjoy there overpriced apple products, i'm sitting here with a laptop with 2x the specs for 1/3 the price. I can also really recommend this laptop for any other gamer. Running Far Cry 4 at 25 fps on medium this laptop won't let you miss out on games the coming 2 years. The lenovo Idea pad is ''Ideal'' for both workers and gamers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Worst Decision for a Computer I had great hopes for the Lenovo Z50. I upgraded just about everything possible and paid about $900 for it. I absolutely hate this computer and would never purchase this brand again. The space bar works 40% of the time, but makes the clicking sound like it does work. The computer is overall ridiculously slow. I paid extra for the non-glare screen that has so much glare I can see my reflection while typing this review. Every time it goes to sleep and wakes up I have to click on the wireless internet icon to get it to wake up and hook back up to the internet. The Lenovo software will override some of my changes - for example I changed my home page to google, but several times it has reverted to the Lenovo website. Overall I would not recommend this computer and I would not buy this brand again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Product This laptop is perfect for anybody who is looking for a great all-around laptop. It does not weigh a lot, has great performance, and has a very well laid out keyboard. The only downside to this computer is its quality. It is made from a plastic that looks great, but feels cheap. Also, the plastic area around the screen gets scratched very easily. For instance, when I close the laptop, due to its thin design, any dust or dirt that is in the way will scratch the surrounding area. This is simply an aesthetic issue, however. Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop for anyone that is looking for a very well performing, great looking machine. I love mine and know that it will last for many years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Lenovo Ideapad Z-50-70 Review Good notebook. Functional, but WIN 8.1 produces a slow boot even when using UEFI and Secure Boot. This is not a hardware issue but a serious issue with WIN 8.1. The Win 8.1 desktop is riddled with unnecessary advertisements. The notebook graphics and audio are EXCELLENT. The sound is the best I have ever had in any notebook. I replaced the hard drive with a Samsung EVO 840 500 Mb, and downloaded a free copy of Classic Shell to clean up that horrendous WIN 8.1 desktop. I recommend that all users should immediately make a USB boot drive. Microsoft no longer provides recovery media. When Windows crashes---and that is predictable, you will be stuck without Microsoft technical support. Switch out the HDD for an SSD to get FAST boots and download Classic Shell to clean up the annoying advertising on the desktop.
