Rated 2 out of 5 by Drjoe66 from Great keyboard, fast, horrible bettery life I have had this computer for 5 days now. In many ways, it is very similar to the T440s I replaced. It still has the great keyboard, the trackpad is better, it has a nice, non-reflective screen that looks and feels exactly the same, and it is very fast. However, this laptop is advertised as having "all day battery life". This is absolutely not true for my unit. I have gone through 9 charge cycles now, just typing and email, no videos or games, and the longest I ever got was about 4 hours. Typical are more 3-3.5 hours on one charge. Right now, I am on 31% with 56 minutes remaining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DanielP from Workhorse with real power I've had this laptop for a month now, using it exclusively for all my computing, both personal and business, and it is outstanding. Under 10 seconds to boot, runs all my programs flawlessly, and the picture quality is so smooth and vibrant that I'm going to use it for Netfix too (I'm very picky about watching movies on computers - it has to look really good). If you're a touch typist, you will love the keyboard. The absolute best of any laptop I've tried. Good key travel and pressure for the right amount of feedback. I purchased this to replace another laptop and also a desktop, so I only have one computer moving forward. I'm extremely happy I made the choice of buying the T460s, as it has thus far served me well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mattc from Battery life is severely lacking This is a great step in the right direction Lenovo - the screen and audio are great, the keyboard is what I'd expect from a modern lenovo, the build quality is sturdy, and the processor is snappy. Unfortunately the battery life is lacking. I'm lucky to get *3 hours* of unplugged time (at modest brightness under normal load) which is a far cry from the 10 hours touted. So, would I recommend this laptop? I wouldn't. I can only hope this machine represents an evolutionary step in Lenovo's design. It looks great. The size is fine. It just needs a significantly larger battery (think big here Lenovo - more is better). How about doubling or tripling what's inside? The fact that it's no longer using a hot swappable battery is fine so long as you can use that extra space to squeeze in more battery.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AmyT from nice looking, weight light, but ... I bought the T460s when it first came out in Feb. I was glad to receive it. But there is a big problem. When I am taking class using Matlab or Eviews, the laptop restarted again and again, at least 5 times. And I took it to information technology center on campus. And the worker there helped me solve it. Even it is better than before, it still restarted sometime even on my final exam. On my final exam, it restarted 3 times in 10 mins. Till now, the laptop still restarts sometime with no sign. Also, the wifi is not stable. sometime it is not able to detect the signal of wifi, but my iphone and ipad can use the wifi.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Peyton from Overheating problem Just got my Thinkpad t460s (512G SATA3, i7 6600U, 12G RAM). Nice keyboard, good appearance. However, the first time I boot the machine for a while, I can feel the overheating, especially to the left of keyboard. It's so hot... I don't know why. CPU temp is 40 centigrade which is normal. But the temperature I feel is higher than that. I didn't open any consuming program. (I even don't install any yet... ) Really hope this problem can be solved. And so is the temperature on the lower side of screen. I know a higher temp is normal but the temp is too high... can easily feel it. Maybe I should go to a service center.

Rated 5 out of 5 by btsfreak from Great Laptop, everything works out of the box I got this Laptop as a compact medium performance work laptop for programming. I have to say I never had so little trouble with a notebook, everything worked out of the box with no hassle. I love my 20GB of RAM and never hit any performance barriers in my first 3 months of work. I actually havent even heard the fan ever...Totally convinced! My reasons for purchase: 1. 20GB of RAM 2. Can run PC with two FullHD monitors simultaneously (no docking station needed) 3. Compact Size and light weight 4. Robust body, superior build quality All has been fulfilled 100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by tjdnyc from Lightweight, slim, fast I was skeptical because I heard the battery life was bad. It's likely that windows 10 is causing all of the issues. I'm running windows 7 and I can get 6-7 hours, streaming music, browsing the internet, and using a word processor with the brightness up high. Definitely purchase this with windows 7. I've gotten ten hours on a charge with my wifi off and brightness at 12/15 while using just a word processor. I'm really happy about that. I was using an older macbook pro that weighed about 5lbs and it was really taking a toll on my neck. I have to walk a lot with my computer in my bag and the t460s totally changed my life. I highly recommend it, but I would purchase it with windows 7 and then set it to never update.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SeattleSlew from Nor the Best in Class We Have Come to Expect Pluses: good but not great keyboard (not up to my last two ThinkPads), good build quality, love the sharp matte display Minuses: display is very dim, abysmal battery life (often less than 5 hours per charge just doing basic tasks), no battery hot swap, no USB-C Would not buy again due to dim screen and performance on battery (about half what Lenovo indicates).
