Rated 4 out of 5 by Cookie4u from Good product n excellent customer service Overall the product is great for settling down my 5 year-old son for a long trip. Compare to other portable DVD player, the screen is much bigger. One downside is that it's a little inconvenient operating it without a remote control. It would've been nice to have a remote control with this. Our av cable wasnt working properly n the picture was displayed distorted after six months of use. When I called the customer service, they sent me a replacement the following week. Great customer service!!! I would recommend this product n this company to anybody who's looking for a good portable DVD player with an affordable price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by reebok098 from WARNING DO NOT BUY!! We have used this about 10 times and it no longer will play a dvd, all it does it make this horrible banging sound like it trying to play the dvd, but it just stopped working. I tried cleaning it, tried different dvd's and nothing has worked. If you have a toddler in the car on a long road trip you know how annoying this can be! It's also hard to navigate while from the front seat. The buttons are too small, but that's just another complaint I have about this product, and it probably wouldn't have been a big deal if it would work and I wasn't always having to do things from the front seat. It took us a long time to break down and buy one and this was NOT cheap! I would have hoped for the high price we would have at least used it more than 10 times:(

Rated 3 out of 5 by CTabsorption from Works fine, but didn't think about the power supply Nice looking, easy to use. The problem is that the two units need separate power. So, Phillips provides you with a dual headed car charger adapter. Great, but what about those of us who travel on trains, where there is a standard 120 V outlet? Phillips provides a 120 V adapter, but it only has one head to connect to the unit(s). That means you can't run two screens in the train. Sure, I can gerry-rig a way around this by carrying a - fairly large - 120 V to 12 V step down and then use the car charger, but come on... This is a big company, and they could provide a simple thing like a 2 headed 120 V adapter. Portable and travel doesn't just mean you're in a car.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JohnnyBoise from Started out good for first 2 months, then 2nd screen died I finally called Phillips and they are sending me a new AV cord which will supposedly make the second screen work again. The cord was on back order for like a month, but just yesterday I got a notice that it was shipped and I should have it in a couple days. It sounds like this has been a major problem on these units ... so I am hopeful this new AV cord fixes the problem which was covered under the warranty. This product is great when it worked. I want to stay committed to Philips but this product experience has hurt their reputation in my eyes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ASO44 from Product is great for road trips I ordered this item to keep 2 kids entertained during a long road trip - it definitely did the job. The item shipped quickly and was very easy to set up. Both screens come with a strap to hold the them in place on the back head rests of the car seats. Each screen has its own speaker with volume control so that each child can control the sound. However, given that this item is meant for travel, I believe it should have come with 2 sets of Philips headphones. We found that some DVDs would skip in the player while others had no issues at all. A great feature of this item is that the movie starts up where it left off if you have to turn off the machine (or turn off the car) mid-movie.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Broken4good from Idea is good, technologies need cleaning up. At first the car DVD player worked fine. After about a month things started failing. The second screen would loose sound or picture or both. After three or so months some dvd's needed to be played with the player laying flat. The players were not taken out of the car everyday , but they were kept out of the sun and clean. Eventually after playing with the plugs so often to get the picture and sound to work one of the plugs broke off in the player and we haven't used it since.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Waste from Waste of money We bought this product for our children. After 5 uses, the motor burned and it is no longer functional. We only used the player for long trips, so the 5 uses were over 18 months. The product was only warrantied for 1 year so I am stuck with a broken DVD player! What a poor quality product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by linda87 from This product didn't even last a year without burning out. I purchased these dvd players almost a year ago. They only worked for 9 months. I did call to report this, and was told that they would be exchanged for me as they are still under warranty. It does bother me though that they lasted only such a short time, so I will be reluctant to buy Phillips products in the future or to recommend them to others. I now worry about the quality of all Phillips products, and that if I buy another product that it too will not last.
