Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Did not work out of the box I am so very disappointed. The design and features and look of this turntable are great. But after setting it up we found that only the Left channel was working and the right channel is dead, whether on Line Out or Phono Out. We checked the stylus, the wiring of the stylus, fiddled with the arm height, weight, skate force, tried different records. We soo wanted this to be fixable. But sadly no. Defective product out of the box so back it goes. I so wanted to believe that the reviews that were negative here were one off lemon examples. But now I think I'll buy a different product and buy it locally not over the web. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Yes I've been listening to music on it for one month, so far i've been very happy with this turntable. This is the best turntable that I've had. I don't even se the point of upgrading this unit, it plays music flawless. Some peple complains about some noise when it is not playing music, I can't hear anything. My last turntable was a Pro-ject 1 Xpression, it was 8 years ago), let me tell you the Audio Technica 120 is a lot better than the Pro-ject 1 Xpression. I'm not saying the Pro-ject Xp was bad is just the Audio T. 120 is so much better. I dare to say it is a night and day the difference among both. I didn't try the phono that comes with it or recording vinyl.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great starter turntable ready to plug and play This was a great first turntable. It has solid build quality and has the classic Japanese direct drive turntable look. It has really clean and resolved sound quality for the price. The built in phono preamp is great for plug and play capability and upgrading cartridges is fairly easy with the detachable headshell. I recommend Audio Technica's own AT440MLa. It brings out the most from this turntable. Another great feature is the option for 78rpm for older records if you also have a 78rpm needle. The speed is dead on being a direct drive Quartz locked table and I have not been disappointed at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great turntable Replacing a 40+ year old Technics direct drive and I love it. While shopping I wanted a turntable that could record my vinyl to other formats but read that by doing that I had to exclude any Blutooth turntables as they could not be set up to convert music via my computer. Well, after setting the AT-LP120BK-USB up and connecting it to my laptop via USB and starting to record, I thought I'd simultaneously try my laptops blutooth and see if I could sent the sound thru my Sound Bar. It worked perfectly, so now I can convert to other file types and I didn't have to buy a new set of speakers. This is a very nice turntable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Not for Performance DJ's I bought these turntables to use for my mobile dj rig. The audio is good. I bought the Shure M44-7 needles. I use Serato dj Sl2 box. I have some dicers and a lpd8 to control the samples and the effects. BUT.... the turntables do have the motor power to do anything but a basic scratching. juggling is out of the question. No advance scratching. I could actually do more scratches with my Numark V7's. I think I will keep them this year to just learn on them and next year I will upgrade to the 1240's because I know they are more for mobile DJ. Its more my fault for not being able to afford the better tables. I do recommend these decks to beginner Dj's. But just understand its more of a start and stop unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great if it works She it is working it is a great turntable form the price. However, had it for less than a year and the stylus skates across the record and skips despite setting the tracking force and anti skate exactly as directions describe. A quick Google search shows that this is a common issue. I realize that it isn't a top of the lone TT, but should still be able to do what it is designed for. Getting in touch with technical support is a nightmare because they never answer the phone and you have to leave a msg then sit around while they call you back. Despite 3 calls to them I still haven't talked to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great, once you get rid of the internal preamp For the money, this is a great turntable. Unfortunately, it is plagued by its cheap internal preamp, which dampens the highs and muddies the lows. Bypassing it doesn't solve the issue because the signal still runs through some capacitors. The only solution is getting rid of it altogether. The are a couple of videos on Youtube showing one how to do that. I've done this to mine and the results were unbelievable. Suddenly my LP120 produced more detailed highs and tighter lows and everything just sounded clearer. I wish Audio Technica would sell a version of the LP120 without the internal pre amp, so us users wouldn't need to resort to such measures in order to extract the most from this otherwise brilliant turntable. If you guys are reading this, please make an Lp120 without the preamp. Everyone would benefit from the choice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Liked the first one so much I went out and bought a second!! I've had my pair of PL-120 turntables for a few years now and my only complaint is that one both units the "START/STOP" switch had to be pressed a couple dozen times to get it working again. I'm an electronics broadcast engineer and I need to take it apart to see why this is happening but probably won't until it completely stops working. It almost feels as if grease in the switch (if any) is causing the problem. It is an annoying problem but probably isn't an issue if you use it at least once a month and don't let it sit idle for months at a time like I do.
